Evaluation and Appraisal Report

Alachua County Comprehensive Plan Update

The Florida Growth Management Act requires each local government to adopt an Evaluation and Appraisal Report (EAR) of its Comprehensive Plan every seven years. The Evaluation and Appraisal Report on the Alachua County Comprehensive Plan was developed in 2008 and 2009 with input from the public, advisory committees, the Local Planning Agency, and community groups, and was adopted by the Board of County Commissioners on August 11, 2009. The EAR contains recommendations for addressing major community issues through updates of the Comprehensive Plan. The process of updating the Comprehensive Plan based on the EAR recommendations is underway. The Board of County Commissioners approved a generalized Work Plan and Public Participation Plan for the Comprehensive Plan update process, which is scheduled to be completed with adoption of Plan Amendments to implement the EAR around April, 2011.

Information on draft amendments to the Comprehensive Plan will be posted here and updated periodically. Click here to view and provide input on draft amendments.
